The home also adopts the principles of Advanced Care Planning.

All parties are also reminded that the Cedars has an 'access to records policy' which means that a resident (and individuals nominated by the resident) can have access to the written records. (The only exception to the above is when third parties have explicitly made known to the Cedars that their views and/correspondence should not be made available to anyone except the Cedars staff. Obviously the home has to respect this request by removing such items from the file prior to 'open access').

The Care Plan also incorporates a resident risk assessment, which details exactly what a resident is capable of undertaking and what tasks pose a greater risk.
