Resident's Charter

Over the years the residents at the Cedars have developed a Charter of Rights to remind the staff and management what is expected from the home. This is on display on the residents' notice board and serves as a continual reminder to us all!

At the Cedars we appreciate how difficult it is for a person to leave his/her own home and we will try and assist with this transition as much as we possibly can, without inhibiting an individual's independence.

However, for those residents who lack capacity they will probably have difficulty leaving the premises due to the Cedars door and perimeter security / safety measures. As a result of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Code of Practice), the appropriate legal requirements will have to be addressed (this also relates to the continuous supervision of residents). Again, the Registered Manager will provide further details.
